# Customers and API keys

Your organisation's details, the services Keyfax is connected to, and the keys other systems use to reach it.

## API keys

A key lets another system start a Keyfax conversation and read back what it decided. Treat one like a password: it identifies the system holding it, and anything holding it can act as that system.

**Creating a key.** Keys are created here, and the full key is shown once, at creation. Copy it then — it cannot be shown again, and a key you did not record has to be replaced rather than recovered.

**Revoking a key.** Revoking takes effect immediately, and any integration still using it stops working at that moment. Make sure you know what holds a key before you revoke it.

## Connected services

Which of these you see depends on what your organisation has. They are the joins between Keyfax and the systems around it, and a change here usually needs someone technical on both sides.
