# Call counts

How many conversations arrived, where they came from, and how many ended up with a person.

The number worth watching is not the total but the proportion **transferred**. A conversational channel exists to resolve things without a person; the transfer rate is the honest measure of whether it is, and a rate that climbs after a script change is the clearest signal that the change did not work.

Read it alongside the reports rather than on its own — counts tell you that something changed, not what.
