# External form

Sends the caller to a form that lives outside Keyfax, and continues the conversation when they come back.

## What to settle before using one

**Where they go, and what goes with them.** Values already known about the conversation can be passed across, so the caller is not asked twice for something you already hold.

**What happens if they never come back.** People abandon forms. The script needs an answer for that case rather than a conversation left open.

**Who holds the data.** The answers are collected by the other system, not by Keyfax, so it is that system's retention and protection that apply to them. Worth a conversation with your data protection colleagues before it goes live.
